Jam Crostata
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1/2 cup butter
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
1 18oz. jar jam or preserves
2 T. water or wine
Place flour, sugar and baking powder in food processor. Process to blend and add butter in pieces and process to crumb texture. Add egg and yolk and process, adding cold water to achieve a stiff dough.
Roll our 3/4 of the dough into a round to fill a greased 10 inch tart pan. Thin jam with water or wine and spread into tart shell. Roll remaining dough into decorative strips and place on tart. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Cool on rack.
